As a young girl, my idea of love
As expected, was innocent.
I didn’t know how to feel
Didn’t know how to deal
With this massive thing called…
Love
It toyed with my emotions
As if I were a yoyo
I couldn’t tell if what I felt
Was that real love that Miss Mary J sings about
Or something as made up as the
Jolly Dude that comes to town once a year
My twenties were sprinkled with glimpse of Heaven
And Staring matches with Hell…I won..
Not wanting to be beaten I did what I must do
The next stage was to work…. On me
We women always speak on wanting a King.
But a King…wants a Queen…
So I did what I had to do to make sure
I was as Royal as I could be.
Now, don’t get me wrong,
I don’t wanna be right for evvvverybody
Community Punany is NOT a badge in Girl Scouts
And it shouldn’t be what a Queen aspires to.
My goal was to be the apple of One man’s eye
The sugar to his koolaid
The grand slam to his world series
The touch down to his superbowl
The madden to his PS3
That around the rim, one second to go in
SWISH!!!
Perfection is not what I strive for
No matter what the horoscope says a Virgo should do
But, here I are
Miss Lainey Starr
Twinkling like a constellation
Here I stand
Until I walk in sand
Hand in hand
With
Love…
