I know that this is a new year but I have been a new me

For much longer than this year is old.

I stand tall and face the sun

Whether is warms or burns, I face it head on

It’s been too long since I’ve held

It makes me smile that I make you smile

There are so many sentences that start off

But then they ended.

Was it with a period or a comma

Has our story had a conclusion

Or a To Be Continued

So many sunrises and sunsets that have not been seen

So many stars that have not been gazed upon

I lay in the bed.. thinking of you

Of our time and when it will come again

When will it come again

Am I a fool for never wanting it to end

As a girl I was taught to believe..

In the happily ever after

And I want mine

I want you as mine

I want us

Can you match my stroke

Can you go lick for lick

If I throw it at you can you give it back

If I want it hard and fast

Or soft and slow

Can you show me just how low you can go

If you have a trick… up your sleeve

Can you take off your shirt and do it ..backwards

If you have a taste for something sweet

Can you handle the dose that I will give

Stretch your muscles as far as you can

And then stretch me further

Use me to bring the sweat to your brow

The blood to a boil

The breath to a pant

Use me to fill you

Drain you

Drench you

Run with me.. till we finish over and over again
